The business was started in 2015 by Phil, with the aim to provide quality shutters in St Albans and the surrounding areas. Over the 9 years since the business began we have built up a great relationship with our customers and our trusted reputation is important to us.
This reputation is built on the fact that we take great pride and care in our work. Many of our customers return to us again and again.
Quality runs through everything we do, from the first communication we have with you, through to the design and fitting of your shutters. We always strive to provide a personal, made to measure service.
We will create a bespoke design for your window shutters, using our expertise to suggest the perfect style and finish to compliment your home. We will only use the finest materials, such as FSC wood and sustainably sourced UPVC for our window shutters to ensure our standards remain high. Our fitters are highly experienced so you can be rest assured that your shutters will look great.
In 2020 the reins of the business were handed over to Mark. He will keep moving the company forward whilst maintaining the same great service, suppliers and products that Heartwood Shutters is known for. We also still have the same great team of fitters.

The process
We offer a smooth and efficient process right from the start. We will manage everything, from the design and supply of your blinds to the fitting and aftercare. Good communication with our customers is key to providing a stress free experience.
We will clearly set out all the costs, inclusive of VAT, and let you know the payment milestones that need to be met to move the process forward.
Design Appointment
The first stage is to find out your requirements. We will visit your home to view the window spaces. At this meeting we will discuss the various options with you. This will form the basis of the quote we provide.

Once the quote is agreed we will come and take exact measurements and design your shutters in line with your requirements.
Shutters ordered
We will then order the shutters based on the agreed designs. We will inform you of the timescales for delivery of your shutters.
A deposit is required before the order is placed.
expert installation
When the shutters have been delivered our experienced fitters will come and install the shutters at your home. We will book a convenient time for you and our fitters will cause the minimum amount of disruption. They will leave your house tidy on completion of the installation.
The balance of the cost is due on the day of installation.
aftercare
Once the fitting is complete we are available in the unlikely event that there are any issues with your shutters.
